Dulux poster
This is the final design for my Final Major Project, I haven't been blogging for a while because I wanted people to see it with a fresh look instead of seeing the development of the design and the various elements it took to design. I chose 'Vibrant' because it speaks out bright vivid colour.

FMP: Final Major Project, dulux poster campaign
It has come to that time at the end of the year, where we all have started our final major project. At first i was worried what i could do mine on and how i could cover over 120 hour guided working hours all based on just one project. The real challenge was that we hadn't actually been given any guidelines and we had to plan our projects from, Research, Ideas Generation, Development and the all important Final Outcome.
I come up with the idea to produce a series of posters for Dulux ulux paint. The posters will consist of a series of bright striking range of colours that will be really quite visually impressive and eye catching. I don't have a final idea in my head however I intend to visually impress the viewer with an expression of exciting movement and striking colours that look visually pleasing to the eye.
Hopefully I'm going to include some photography i this piece and just explore different medias to find the best outcome overall.

V&A Poster Final design Idea
For my final design idea I decided on working with bright colours, and and eye catching image would be a lot more appealing to young people age 11-19.
I wanted to create an effect of light but in a graphic way, by visually communicating the idea of a storm and how the moment just before a storm you can really feel the energy of it brewing ready to hit.
The concept is how this big exhibition is well.. big! The way that it is coming and happening and has a real energy about it. I think the only thing that lets it down is that there is no examples of the exhibition. However, overall it is a really strong idea that I am quite proud of.
This time i really thought cleverly of the way the posters V&A have produced; all have cleverly aligned type. So the idea was to experiment with this until I have an unusual layout but still works cleverly. The biggest challenge was trying so that everything would work off of each other from the artwork, to the logo and finally the type. I think people don't really understand that is the most important factor of being a good designer, you have to get it so that nothing looks misplaced as if it shouldn't be there people just think they make a fancy piece of artwork and the rest just follows.
I think if my design was chosen I work with the idea and create a new design to get finally printed and produced.

V&A Poster Idea
From the image I took of the design area I decided to create a poster design from the image dispaying use of clean type and colours. The image itself has a very grey neutral look to it- aprt from the red chair nearly central to the image. I noticed it came out slightly orange in the photo so I chose a similar colour for the border.
This image does work well, however it is a weak idea for attracting young people to visit the museum. I am going to have to forget using the images as a poster design and look in a new direction.
I was thinking maybe some photo manipulation work will interest people alot more, rather than just a clean image with type.

Photo manipulation, remixed
I took an image of my girlfriend, and while learning to gain skill of lighting effects I gave her a nice profile picture to have on her facebook..
I have learnt to use lighting effects by using suttle colours and used the pen tool to create light rays then played with some layer blend modes to get the right effect of colourful rays so she glows with the picture and does not look as if they are seperate from the image and the effect.
The most important thing to learn is how to blend these together, this is what really pulls the effect of the image together.
Check her blog she's got some pretty cool stuff on there MyPreciousSmith

Could this be real ♥
Inspired by a new dubstep track released called Sub Focus- could this be real and a certian young lady, I created these two illustrations. One is based on love and sex and the other is an illustration based on the female body and how surreal it seems.
